BELTS AND CHAINS
ENGINE BELT
The engine belt is driven by the engine crankshaft
pulley and drives the engine water pump and
alternator pulleys. Proper belt tension is obtained
when the belt deflects 7 to 9 mm (0.28 to 0.35 in)
from a force of 10 kg (22 lb) applied at the
mid-point of the longest span.
Check and adjust the belt tension every 100 hours
of operation.
WARNING: Moving belt and fan. Keep
away.
STATIC DRAG CHAIN
A static drag chain prevents the buildup of static
electricity in the machine. The chain is attached to
the machine by a rear main brush skirt retaining
bolt.
Make sure the chain is touching the floor at all
times.
