5. If the deflection is not the same over the full
length of the blade, loosen the pivot screws
on both sides of the squeegee pivot.
6. Turn the adjustment screws clockwise to
increase the deflection at the ends of the
squeegee. Turn the adjustment screws
counter-clockwise to decrease the deflection
at the ends of the squeegee blade. Be sure
to turn both adjustment screws
the
same
number of turns.
7. Tighten the pivot screws.
8. Turn on the machine power and move the
machine forward again to check the
squeegee blade deflection.
9. Readjust the squeegee blade deflection if
necessary.
ADJUSTING SQUEEGEE BLADE DEFLECTION
Deflection is the amount of curl the squeegee
blade has when the machine moves forward with
the squeegee lowered to the floor. The best
deflection is when the squeegee wipes the floor
just dry with a minimum amount of deflection.
1. Turn the machine power on.
2. Lower the squeegee.
3. Drive the machine forward, and look at the
deflection of the squeegee blade. The
correct amount of deflection is 12 mm
(0.50 in) for scrubbing smooth floors and
15 mm (0.62 in) for rough floors.
