path.

The

switch

is

called

the

home

port.

During
​ ​
everyday
​ ​
operation,
programming ​ ​ comes ​ ​ from ​ ​ an ​ ​ input ​ ​ feed, ​ ​ passes ​ ​ through ​ ​ the ​ ​ switch, ​ ​ and ​ ​ goes ​ ​ to ​ ​ an ​ ​ output
channel.
