Warranty terms
and conditions
These warranty terms and conditions apply to your purchase of ‘TV with a card’ from Telenet,
referred to hereafter as ‘TV with a card’. Exceptions to these warranty terms and conditions must
be expressly agreed in writing between you and the seller*.
Article 1 Warranty for consumers
1.1. As the purchaser, you have statutory rights under the applicable legislation governing the sale of
consumer goods. This warranty does not affect those rights. This warranty applies within the entire
territory in which Telenet offers its products for sale.
1.2. In compliance with article 1649 d of the Belgian Civil Code, the seller grants you a warranty
against any non-conformity for a period of two years from the delivery date. The seller* cannot be
held liable for any complaints made after the warranty period.
1.3. If ‘TV with a card’ is not in conformity, the seller* shall repair or replace it free of charge or shall
refund the paid price.
1.4. If the non-conformity occurs more than six months after delivery, you must be able to prove
that this non-conformity existed at the time of delivery.
Article 2 Warranty for non-consumers
2.1. Telenet guarantees that ‘TV with a card’ shall be free from any hidden defects for a period of six
months after delivery. Telenet cannot be held liable for any complaints after this warranty period.
2.2. If ‘TV with a card’ has any hidden defects, Telenet’s only obligation is to repair or replace the
faulty CI+ module free of charge or to refund the paid price - at its own discretion.
Article 3 Common provisions
3.1. The warranties provided in this document do not cover any defects resulting from the
purchaser’s failure to comply with Telenet’s user or maintenance instructions, any modifications
or repairs not performed by Telenet or a Telenet-approved third party, inappropriate use, power
surges or power failures, wear and tear or other causes beyond Telenet’s control. Telenet is not
liable for any indirect, consequential or economic loss or damage (including loss of profit, revenue,
etc.) you may have suffered.
3.2. To make a warranty claim, you must take the CI+ module to a Telenet Center within two
months of discovering the defect (a list of all the Telenet Centers can be found at telenet.be/
winkelpunten).
Article 5 Applicable law and invalid provisions
5.1 The provisions of this warranty are governed by Belgian law.
5.2. If any of these stipulations are invalid or declared invalid, all other provisions remain in force
regardless. If any part of these general terms and conditions is declared to be too general, the
provision shall still be enforced to the maximum extent allowed by law.
* The ‘seller’ refers to Telenet and/or the Telenet shop.
