Installing media server software
Starting media server software
The installation described in this Quick Start Guide is based on the following preconditions:
Your PC is ready for use and equipped for communication within the network.
Your network (WLAN or LAN) is ready for use; you know the network settings
(SSID, encryption parameters, IP addresses).
Optional: Internet connection is available via the network (only required for Internet radio and firmware
updates).
Sinus 154 media is not connected until the media server software has been configured.
You will find further information about these aspects in the detailed user guide (CD-ROM).
1. Install the media server software on the PC to which you want to set up the network connection and
release suitable media folders in your network.
2. Insert the batteries supplied into your remote control.
3. Connect Sinus 154 media with your television and, if necessary, with your PC or network (LAN).
Connect all the necessary cables for this.
4. Switch on your television and Sinus 154 media.
5. Configure the network connection.
These steps are described on the following pages.
Windows 2000 / XP: you must be registered as a user with administration rights!
Close all the programs running on your PC.
Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive of your PC.
The installation wizard starts automatically.
Softwareportal Sinus 154 media
is displayed.
If the installation wizard does not start automatically:
– Open Windows Explorer.
– Select the CD-ROM drive.
– Double click on
autorun.exe
.
In the main menu of the software portal, click on
Sinus 154 media
.
Click on
Media Server Installation
to start the installation.
Confirm the start of the installation with
Weiter
to display the
Lizenzvereinbarung
.
Read the
Lizenzvereinbarung
through carefully and accept the stated conditions if you wish to continue
with the installation. Confirm your agreement with
Weiter
.
Select the folder into which the components of the media server software are to be installed.
The directory
C:\Programme\T-COM\Sinus 154 media
is preconfigured.
– If required, click on
Ändern...
to define another installation directory in the
Ordner auswählen
dialogue.
– Click on
Weiter
to confirm the displayed installation directory.
This starts the installation. A bar shows how the installation is progressing.
After the installation, click on
Fertigstellen
to confirm completion of the installation procedure.
This concludes the installation of the media server software.
Restart your PC if you are prompted to do so.
In the start menu, click on the entry
Programme – Sinus 154 media – Sinus 154 media
.
This starts the media server software. The media server software icon is displayed in the status area of the
task bar (next to the clock).
