REPAIR
7.1 TROUBLESHOOTING
SYMPTOM
: Meter reads “E__0”
PROBABLE CAUSE 1
: Gauge
tube disconnected or defective.
REMEDY
: Connect or replace gauge
tube.
PROBABLE CAUSE 2
: DV-6 tube
connected to MODEL 4/6 calibrated for
a DV-4 tube.
REMEDY
: Use correct gauge tube.
SYMPTOM
: Meter reads some
pressure like “0.26” when tube is at
atmospheric pressure.
PROBABLE CAUSE
: DV-4 tube
connected to MODEL 4/6 calibrated for
a DV-6 tube.
REMEDY
: Use correct gauge tube.
SYMPTOM
: Abnormal pressure
readings.
PROBABLE CAUSE 1
: Using
incorrect gauge tube, gauge tube
contaminated, or gauge calibration
changed.
REMEDY
: Replace with correct gauge
tube, clean gauge tube, perform Custom
calibration per Section 5.2.
PROBABLE CAUSE 2
: Selected
wrong tube setting during configuration,
or inadvertently activated CAL.H or
CAL.L during Configuration when tube
was not at the correct pressure.
REMEDY
: Re configure MODEL 4/6,
or activate Factory Reset.
7.2 WARRANTY
REPAIR
Hastings Instruments will repair or
replace, at their option, any vacuum
product covered under the warranty
expressed in Section 1.5, that is returned
transportation prepaid to their plant in
Hampton, Virginia. All products
returned must be accompanied by the
Service Form or a written description of
the problem. Please contact factory for
a Return Material Authorization (RMA)
number before returning any product for
repair.
7.3 NON-WARRANTY
REPAIR
Most non-warranty repairs have a fixed
repair cost. Please contact factory of this
fixed repair cost and issue a purchase
order for this amount when returning an
instrument for repair. Also obtain a
Return Material Authorization (RMA)
number from the factory. The returned
product must be accompanied by the
Service Form or a written description of
the problem.
