NetBlazer Installation
2
This chapter covers installing the NetBlazer STi and NetBlazer 40i. Topics
discussed in this chapter range from connecting AC power to installing
option boards. Additionally, a list of LAN and WAN connection types sup-
ported by the NetBlazer STi and 40i is provided.
After you have installed your NetBlazer STi or 40i, you can configure its
software. This procedure, which involves setting up the IP, IPX, or
AppleTalk addresses, routes, and users for the NetBlazer, is described in the
NetBlazer Configuration Guide and the NetBlazer Setup Utility Guide.
AC Power Cord Connection
The NetBlazer is equipped with an autoselecting power supply; line voltage
selection is performed automatically. Connect the AC power cord supplied
with your NetBlazer between the power cord connector on the back of the
NetBlazer and an AC outlet.
Installing a NetBlazer STi Option Board
First, make sure that the boards are properly configured (refer to the
appropriate option board document as necessary). Then, perform the fol-
lowing steps to install an option board in the NetBlazer STi:
1.
Choose an unused option slot and remove the filler panel from the
back panel.
Warning:
The NetBlazer is designed to allow connection to LAN and WAN interfaces
with the power applied. However, as a general safety precaution, turn off
the power before making connections.
