WFM 601i Serial Component Monitor

Connecting Power

These monitors are designed to operate from a single-phase power source having
one of its current-carrying conductors at or near earth ground (the neutral
conductor). Only the line conductor is fused for over-current protection. Systems
that have both current-carrying conductors live with respect to ground (such as
phase-to-phase on multiphase systems) are not recommended as power sources.
A protective ground connection by way of the grounding conductor in the power
cord is essential for safe operation.

WARNING.

When power is supplied, line voltage will be present in the

instrument, even if the POWER switch is set to STANDBY

.

The

WFM 601i

monitors operate at 50 and 60 Hz, over the range of 90–250 Volts,

without operator adjustment.

Remote Control

The rear-panel REMOTE connector is a 25-pin,

D

-type connector. It provides

limited remote control functions via TTL signal or ground closures to designated
pins. Eight front-panel setups can also be stored and recalled through the Remote
connector. See Appendix B.

The rear-panel RS232 connector is a 9-pin subminiature D-type connector that
provides a serial interface for calibration. The RS232 pin assignments are given
in Appendix B.
