Installation (Continued)
THREE PHASE MOTORS: 230V TO
460V CONVERSION
1. Remove the hex head screws (Ref.
No. 13, Figure 7, Page 8) holding the
capacitor cover (Ref. No. 2). Remove
the capacitor cover and O-Ring.
Disconnect the motor lead wires
from the power cord set (the wires
and connector are color coded for
reassembly). Be careful not to spill
any motor oil.
2. Reconnect the power cord to the
motor leads as shown in Table III,
Page 5, under “Stator Leads: 12
Wire 460V”.
3. Reassemble the capacitor cover and
O-Ring and tighten the screws. Be
sure you do not damage the O-Ring.
4. Momentarily start the pump to
check rotation. Look at the impeller
through the intake opening of the
volute (the pump suction), Ref. No.
22. The rotation should be CCW
(
).
5. If the rotation is
not
CCW, remove
the cover again and interchange any
two incoming power leads to the
motor. Rotation will now be CCW.
Operation
NOTE:
Do not allow pump to run in a
dry sump. It will void the warranty and
may damage the pump.
An automatic overload protector in
the motor will protect motor from
burning out due to overheating/
overloading. When motor cools down,
overload protector will automatically
reset and start motor.
Maintenance
Risk of electrical
shock. Can burn or
kill. Do not lift pump by power cord.
1. Attempting to lift or support pump
by power cord can damage cord and
cord connections.
2. Cord may pull apart, exposing bare
wires with possibility of fire or
electrical shock.
3. Lifting or supporting pump by
power cord will void warranty.
4. Use lifting ring on top of pump for
all lifting/lowering of pump.
Disconnect power to pump before
doing any work on pump or
attempting to remove pump from
sump.

REPLACEMENT
Refer to Figure 7, Page 8 –
Replacement Parts Illustration for
Models 4RK45AA, 4RK46AA, 4RK47AA,
4RK48AA,and 4RK49AA. Refer to
Figure 8, Page 9 – Replacement Parts
Illustration for Models 4RK62AA and
4RK63AA.
Hazardous voltage.
Can shock, burn, or
cause death. Before servicing pump,
disconnect electrical power to pump and
control switch.
Risk of electrical
shock. Can burn or
kill. Do not lift pump by power cord (See
Figure 1).
After removing basin cover and
necessary discharge piping, lift pump
out of basin by the handling ring.
Place pump in an area where it can be
cleaned thoroughly. Remove all scale
and deposits on pump.
Submerge pump in disinfectant
(chlorox or chlorine) for at least one
hour before disassembling pump.
The pump motor housing contains a
special lubricating oil. Keep oil clean
and free of water at all times.
NOTE:
Whenever motor cover is being
removed for service, remove oil and
replace with new oil at reassembly. Use
only oil listed in parts list (Part No.
U197-8A). When filling with new oil,
DO NOT overfill. To allow room for
expansion, oil level with cold motor
should be about 1/4" (6 mm) above
top of motor assembly.

Dimension
Measurement in Inches
This chart is only a guide. The pumping ranges are based on testing in non-
turbulent conditions. The range may vary due to water temperature and cord
shape.
NOTE:
Pumping range increases as the tether length increases.
Risk of flooding. Inspect the tether strap to be sure that it is
tightly fastened and will not allow the float cord to slip in either
direction.
