8.2. BELT TENSION

Carry out the procedures described in paragraphs
7.9. “Disassembling the right and left side
casings”
1. Back off the lock nut (not visible in the
figure at left) of alternator pivot a using a 19-
mm wrench.
2. Back off dowel b of alternator pivot a .
3. Back off nut
c of belt tension rod d using a
17-mm wrench.
4. Rotate the alternator on pivot a in such a way
that, at point A , belt e has a vertical play of
approximately 1 cm.
5. After completing the adjustment, lock down
what previously backed off.
After completing this procedure, check
the belt alignment as described in
paragraph 8.1. .
