4 Using the assembly pin, turn the O-Ring into the bore hole of the closing screw with a
rotating movement.
5 Place the O-ring in its final position using the other end of the assembly pin.
6 Place the assembly pin over the temperature sensor.
7 Attach the plastic half nut to the sensor using the assembly pin
(optional also brass union piece with a grooved pin).

Place the temperature sensor with the adapter union piece in the ball valve and tighten
the brass screw
hand-tight

When installing in immersion pockets, the sensors must be pushed in up to the
bottom of the immersion pocket and then fixed.
Expansion modules
The computer unit has two plug locations for expansion modules. These modules have
no retrospective effect on the consumption acquisition and can be retrofitted without
damaging the calibration mark.
The computer unit is equipped with automatic identification and display showing which
module is plugged into which plug location.
Installation of the modules

Fold down the side catches to open the computer unit.
2 Engage the module into the appropriate plug location.
3 Carefully plug in the front ribbon cable on both sides.
4 Close the cover.
5 Press the push-button to check that the meter operates correctly.

Seal the casing cover.
Cold meter ultra S3
This chapter only describes the properties and functions of the cold meter which differ
from those of the heat meter.
Type approval
We affirm that these meters have been manufactured according with the German Physical
and Technical Institute (PTB) type approval and are permitted to be used in metrology requi-
ring calibration in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Operating conditions
• Flow rate sensor protection class IP 65
Information about installation
• As a rule, the computer unit should be installed separated from the volume measuring
section.
• Insulate the volume measuring section diffusion-resistant after installation. This insulati-
on must be repeated each time the meter is replaced.
• Meters for water-glycol mixtures cannot be calibrated.
• Lay the connection lines from the volume measuring section and temperature sensors
to the computer unit with a drip pan.
