USE
Protective coating burn off will cause smoking on first use. This is NOT harmful and will
disappear after a short time. Therefore it is recommended to let your appliance work
empty for 10 minutes before the first use.
When using for the first time, wipe the surface of the plates with a damp cloth, then dry.
Close the appliance and plug into the electrical outlet. The red pilot light will come on to
indicate that the appliance is switched on and heating.
The green ready light will come on as well when the cooking temperature is reached.
During use, this ready light will come on and off regularly. This simply means that the
thermostat is regulating the appliance's temperature.
Attention: during operation, the baking plates heat up. Pay attention not to get burned.
Open the appliance and lightly brush the baking plates with butter, margarine or cooking
oil.
Pour the dough evenly into the notches of the bottom baking plate but not all the way to
the edges, put 3 bamboo sticks in the side notches of the bottom baking plate and close
the appliance. The sticks have to be half on the inside and half on the outside of the
waffle maker. Press the lid down for a moment to spread the dough evenly on the baking
plate.
Bake until golden brown (about 4 to 6 minutes). When the waffles are ready, take them
out by the bamboo sticks. If the waffles stick to the plates, remove them with a plastic or
wooden spatula. Never use any sharp or metallic objects, as this might damage the non-
stick coating of the baking plates.
When you have finished baking, unplug the appliance and leave it open so that the
baking plates can cool down.
