6 – TASCAM effects—Preset effect settings

TASCAM DM-24 Effects

Rhythm 2

A lighter backing style distortion.

Bass Dist

Use this distortion with bass.

Fusion 1

Use this with solo instruments to fill out the sound.

Fusion 2

Distortion used for a smooth, sweet fusion style.

British

A fat classic “single-coil” distortion.

Fuzzy

A rather heavy fuzz distortion.

Guts

A “single-coil” overdrive sound.

Sweet

A rather sweet, “rear pickup”-type solo sound.

Mellow

Mellow distortion. Try with the front pickup.

Cheap

A cheap and cheerful distortion sound.

Lead

A lead solo distortion sound.

Bottom

Somewhat bass-heavy driving sound.

Strong

A powerful driving sound.

Trebly

Driving sound with a lot of treble.

Solo

"Humbucker” solo sound.

Crunch

“Crunch”

Fat Drive

A thick, fat sound

Compressor

Comp

Basic compressor sound

Fast Attack

A compressor with a fast attack

Slow Attack

A compressor with a slow attack.

Short Release

Quick-release compressor.

Long Release

Slow release compressor.

Vocal Comp 1

Use this compressor with vocals.

Vocal Comp 2

Maybe a little more natural-sounding than Vocal 1.

Inst

This setting is good with a rhythm box or drum machine.

Exciter

Exciter

Helps the definition of musical sounds.

Edge

The treble is attenuated in this setting.

Vocal EX

Suitable for use with vocals.

Rhythm G

Use this setting with rhythm guitars.

Bass EX

Use with bass guitars and instruments.

Use this to reduce sibilance.
