Changing Media Storage Location
Before you run the TCS wizard, read
Changing the Media
Storage Location - prerequisites
section and configure
your NAS.
Note that orphaned temporary files not used in any
conferences and .tcb import or export files will not be
moved to the NAS and will be deleted from the local disk.
Log on to the Content Server using Remote Desktop
Connection. Go to Computer Management>System
Tools>Local Users and Groups>Groups>Administrators and
add the domain account MYDOMAIN\TCSNASUSER to the
Administrators group.
Go to
Start Menu
>
All Programs
>
TANDBERG
>
TCS
>
TCS Wizard
, or double-click the
TCS Wizard
shortcut on the
desktop.
Read the Content Server Overview information, then select
Alternate Storage [NAS] Wizard
.
Note that after the initialization phase, the wizard will
put the TCS in Idle mode, so that no calls are accepted
or offline transcode jobs processed while the new
configuration is tested. When the wizard is cancelled or
completed, TCS will automatically go back to Online mode.
Enter the username and password of the account that
the Content Server will use to access the NAS, e.g.
MYDOMAIN\TCSNASUSER.
Enter the remote server information for the new NAS
location in the format: \\ServerName\ShareName\.
NASName must be entered as the DNS name, not IP
address, otherwise the TCS wizard will fail.
At the
Content Server Checks
step, confirm that the
Content Server has been backed up and that antivirus
software has been stopped (if it is installed). If the TCS has
not been backed up and antivirus software has not been
stopped, cancel the wizard and complete those actions,
then run the wizard again. Your system will not have
changed if you select
Cancel
.
The
NAS: Test Result
step will display information about
your intended setup. If all tests have been successful,
click
Configure
to configure the Content Server
and move
your existing media files to the NAS location. This may
take some time, depending on how much media has to be
moved from the E drive. You may also click
Finish
to exit
the wizard without making any changes at this step. If any
of the tests failed, you will not be able to continue to run
the wizard.
When the process has been completed, click
Finish
to exit
the TCS wizard. No server restart is necesssary.
TCS wizard logs are available in E:\logs\SetupUtility.
To check your new media location at any time, select
Server
Overview
from the
Administrator Settings
menu.
