Silent Monitoring
Silent Monitoring
This feature enables an authorized user to monitor and/or record (may require additional hardware) any system port,
station, trunk, etc. in any state (except data and conference), without audio or visual warning to the monitored party.
While monitoring a port, your telephone returns a busy signal for all incoming calls.
The volume can be adjusted using the
buttons whilst monitoring, and you can whisper by pressing
[WhspPg]
.
Press

to access the Silent Monitoring options.

[S.Mon1]
1-Way Split Silent Monitoring
is used to monitor either side of a 2-way conversation separately. Only
one of the conversing parties can be heard at any one time. This feature can be activated from idle only,
as follows:
1. Press
[S.Mon1]
.
2. At the prompt, dial the station number of the original destination (1
st
party), then:
a. To monitor the 1
st
conversing party, choose
[Origin]
.
b. To monitor the 2
nd
conversing party, choose
[2ndPrt]
.
3. To cancel Split Silent Monitor, press
[Abort]
,
SPKR
or hang up.
4. To whisper to the 1
st
party, press
[WhspPg]
.
Whispering to the 2
nd
party is not allowed.
NOTE:
If you hear the reorder tone when attempting to monitor a call, the port is
SECURED
against
monitoring.
