9. Microsoft® Office Word Mobile
Microsoft® Office Word Mobile is a streamlined version of Microsoft Word.
Word documents created on your PC can be opened and edited on your
MDA Touch Plus. You can also create and edit documents and templates in
Word Mobile and save them as *.doc, *.rtf, *.txt, and *.dot files.
You can have only one document open at a time. When you open a second
document, the first one is saved and closed automatically.
Note By default, Word Mobile saves the file in the .docx format. You can
change the file format by tapping Menu > Tools > Options (or Menu
> Options
if a file is not opened) and then changing the
Default
template
to
Word 97-2003 Document (.doc)
. If you want to save the
file in the .docx format and read the file on a PC that uses Microsoft
Office 2003 or earlier versions, you need to download and install
the File Format Converter from the Microsoft Web site (http://www.
microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=94B3470-3AE9-
4AEE-8F43-C6BB74CD466&displaylang=en) on your PC.
To create a Word file
1.
Tap Start > Programs > Word Mobile .
2. In Word Mobile, tap New . You will see either a blank document or
template, depending on what you have selected as the default template.
Note If this is the first time you open Word Mobile, tap Menu > File > New
to create a new document.
3. Enter text as desired.
