The ferrite ring on the POWER BAR cable is movable, i.e. you
can re-position it to deal with the frequency spectrum which is
causing you problems. If interference occurs, adjust the position
of the ferrite ring until the optimum
Interference generated
by other system
components
It is not only external equipment which generates interference;
the individual components of a Hi-Fi system - especially digital
machines - can also cause problems. The design of the

mains filter system prevents such interference reaching other
units via the mains wiring system. This is achieved by de-
coupling the source device sockets from each other using
separate shield current blocking filters. Additionally all the
sockets are wired in a star-type cabling from a central connecting
point.
Polarity indicator
The polarity of the mains connector can make a difference with
many high-quality Hi-Fi components, and it is important to
establish this correctly. The mains connector polarity can have a
significant influence on the quality of reproduced sound,
depending on the winding technology employed for the mains
transformer and the design of the mains power supply section.
The
POWER BAR includes a visual polarity indicator which
enables you to check that polarity is correct. The mains plug
attached to the
POWER BAR should be connected in such a way
that the indicator LED does not glow. If the polarity is set up in
this way, the marked terminal of each mains supply socket is the
phase line, and this should be connected to the correspondingly
marked terminal of the Hi-Fi unit connected to that socket. If you
use the

POWER LINE , all you have to do is connect the
marked terminal of the safety mains plug to the marked terminal
of the
POWER BAR , and all the

units connected to the
distribution panel will have correct polarity automatically, since
the Euro mains connectors which we use are polarised, i.e. they
can only be connected one way round.
Voltage surge
protection

Modern Hi-Fi devices are very sensitive to voltage peaks and
surges which can occur in the mains power network due to a
lightning strike or other event. The
POWER BAR mains
distribution panel includes an integral surge protection circuit
designed to widen the safety margin for the components
connected to the panel. This circuit can suppress currents of up
to 10000 Amps and more, and thereby prevents almost all
dangerous excess voltage peaks reaching the devices connected
to the system. If other electrical equipment in your house is
damaged by a lightning strike, please check the surge protection
circuit of the
POWER BAR . In case of failure the polarity indicator
LED lights up red. Please note that, like a standard electrical
fuse, this circuit may be destroyed by a serious surge in voltage,
so it is essential to ask your specialist

