Audible alarm
For critical situations a pattern of audible tones will be repeated every 5 seconds, according to
the table below. This audible alarm can be silenced by holding the ON/OFF switch on the front
panel in the “UP” position until a chirp is heard. A new alarm condition will cause the audible
alarm to be reactivated. Contact Factory for instructions on how to permanently silence the
alarm.

Hot Swapping the Battery Pack
The battery pack can be removed from the UPS and it, or another one, can be inserted into the
UPS without disrupting the delivery of power to the load as long as a source of input power is
available. This feature is referred to as “hot swapping” in the industry. It can be used to replace a
battery pack that needs servicing, or to replace a drained battery pack with a spare, fully charged
one if additional back-up protection must be ensured before the drained battery pack will have
time to be recharged.
Of course, if there is no source of input power available and the UPS is therefore drawing power
from the battery, then the removal of the battery pack would cause the UPS’s outputs to shut
down until a recharged battery pack is inserted.
