ARC RAYS can burn eyes.

NOISE can damage hearing.

Arc rays from the welding process produce 
intense visible and invisible (ultraviolet and 
infrared) rays that can burn eyes. The SWS is
meant for use only with enclosed weld heads
which minimize exposure to these harmful rays.

Do not look at welding arc.

D

Use protective screens or barriers to protect 
others from flash and glare; warn others not to
watch the arc.

D

Wear approved ear protection if noise level 
is high.

WELDING can cause fire or explosion.

Welding on closed containers, such as tanks,
drums, or pipes, can cause them to blow up.
The hot work piece and hot equipment can
cause fires and burns. Check and be sure the
area is safe before doing any welding.

Protect yourself and others from the 
hot work piece.

D

Watch for fire, and keep a fire 
extinguisher nearby.

D

Do not weld on closed containers such as tanks,
drums, or pipes, unless they are 
properly prepared according to AWS F4.1.

D

Do not use welder to thaw frozen pipes.

D

Do not use extension cords that are in poor physical
condition or have insufficient current capacity.
Failure to do so can pose fire and shock hazards.
