Carefully insert the twist drill with the extension into the glow plug compartment.
Insert the drill bit through the guide sleeve and screw it into the glow plug thread.
Check that the drill bit is freely accessible and is not jammed
•
Carry out the drilling process with the aid of an electric/pneumatic drill under slight pressure
•
After the drilling process, remove the tools and clean the glow plug seat with compressed air
to remove dirt and/or material residues
TA P P I N G
•
Insert the suitable tap with extension together with the previously selected guide sleeve into
the glow plug opening
•
Screw the guide sleeve into the glow plug thread
•
Cut the thread into the glow plug electrode with the aid of a conventional tap wrench with
or without ratchet function
•
After thread cutting, remove the tools and clean the glow plug seat with compressed air to
remove dirt and/or material residues
R E M OV I N G T H E E L E C T R O D E
•
Insert the appropriate trigger rod together with the previously selected guide sleeve into the
insert glow plug opening
•
Screw the trigger rod into the previously cut thread in the glow plug electrode
•
Remove the nut from the trigger rod and put the bearing 03719L-11 on the trigger rod instead.
Now turn the nut back onto the trigger rod until it is flush with the bearing.
•
By turning the nut further, the glow plug electrode is carefully pulled out

Before installing the new glow plug, ensure that all chips, dirt, and other particles have been
removed from the seat of the glow plug
For this procedure, we recommend the cleaning kit 03714L

Please observe the tightening values for glow plugs of the vehicle manufacturer
•
You finish the repair by inserting the new glow plug
