3-2. Cleaning the Silencer
You are advised to periodically dismantle and
clean the silencer before it gets too dirty.

Detach the silencer from the harmonica.

Remove the silencer assembly screw and
dismantle it. (Use a Phillips No.2 screwdriver)
Make sure you do not lose the various
components.

Clean each component.
Rinse the resin components in water.
Thoroughly wipe off all moisture after cleaning.

Reassemble the parts while paying attention to
their orientation.
Silencer Assembly Screw
Attach the screw to the right-hand
side of the silencer and the nut to
the left-hand side.
Cells
All of the 12 cells are the same shape.
They all face the same direction.
Side Cover
The same shape on
the left and right.
Tighten the screw to a level where its tip is approximately level with the nut.

Tightening the screw excessively may result in damage.

Insufficient tightening will result in the silencer becoming easily detached.

The screw may loose little by little while being used.
End Cover
As shown in the illustration on the right, the side
with the protrusion fits onto the upper cover, and
the side without a groove faces the side cover.

If the orientation is wrong, a gap will appear
between the cover and the other parts during
reassembly.
