7. Remove the clamp

and move
the O2-sensor Lead Wire

to left
side of the oil filter.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the
O2-sensor Lead Wire by contacting
oil.
8. Turn the oil filter

counterclock-
wise and remove it with a Suzuki
“cap type” oil filter wrench or a
“strap type” filter wrench of the
proper size.

9. Wipe off the mounting surface

on the engine where the new oil fil-
ter will be seated with a clean rag.
10. Smear a little engine oil around
the filter gasket

of the new oil
filter.
11. Screw the new oil filter by hand
until the filter gasket contacts the
mounting surface (a small resis-
tance will be felt).
NOTICE
Failure to use an oil filter with the
correct design and thread specifi-
cations can damage your motor-
cycle’s engine.
Be sure to use a genuine Suzuki
oil filter or an equivalent one
designed for your motorcycle.
