Before and during the cleaning oper­
ation, exa mine the element to see
if
it is torn. A torn element m ust be
replaced.
*
Be sure to position the e lement
snugly and correctly, so that no in­
coming air will bypass it. Remember,
rapid wear of piston rings and cylin­
der bore is often cau sed by a de­
fective or poorly fitted element.
