5-5 Installing Memory
Note: Check the Supermicro web site for recommended memory modules.
CAUTION
Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM modules
to prevent any possible damage.
Installing DIMMs
Insert the desired number of DIMMs into the memory slots, starting with slot
DIMMA1.
1. Push the release tabs outwards on both ends of the DIMM slot to unlock it.
2. Align the key on the DIMM module with the receptive point on the slot.
3. Use two thumbs together to press on both ends of the module straight down
into the slot until the module snaps into place.
4. Press the release tabs to the lock positions to secure the DIMM module into
the slot. Reverse the above steps to remove DIMMs. See Figure 5-5.
Memory Support
The X10SRi-F supports up to 256GB of RDIMM or 512GB of LRDIMM DDR4-
2133/1866/1600/1333 in eight memory slots. Populating these DIMM slots with
a pair of memory modules of the same type and size will result in interleaved
memory, which will improve memory performance. Please refer to the table on
the following page and the Supermicro web page for possible updates to memory
support.
