Unit Identifier Switch
A Unit Identifier (UID) switch and two LED
indicators are provided on the serverboard.
The rear UID LED (LE4) is located next to
the rear UID switch. The front panel UID
switch and LED are described with JF1
connectors. Pressing a UID switch will
turn on both the rear and front UID LEDs.
Pressing a UID switch again will turn off
both LEDs. These UIDs provide easy
identification of a system unit that may be
in need of service.
Note:
the
UID can also be triggered via
IPMI. Refer to the IPMI User's Guide on
the Supermicro website.

Rear UID LED

on the backplane. This LED is used in
conjunction with the rear UID switch to
provide easy identification of a system that
