1-2 Motherboard

Features

The SuperServer 5017A-EP is built around the X9SCAA, a single processor mother-

board based on the Intel NM10 Express chipset and designed to provide maximum

performance. Below are the main features of the X9SCAA. (See Figure 1-1 for a

block diagram of the chipset).

Processors

The X9SCAA supports a single Intel® ATOM N2800 Series Processor. Please refer

to the motherboard description pages on our web site for a complete listing of sup-

ported processors (www.supermicro.com).

Memory

The X9SCAA has two SO-DIMM slots that can support up to 4 GB of Non-ECC

DDR3-1066 memory. See Chapter 5 for details.

Serial ATA

A SATA controller is also integrated into the chipset to provide two SATA 2.0 (3/

Gbps) ports.

PCI Expansion Slots

The X9SCAA has one PCI x32 slot and one Mini-PCI-E slot.

Rear I/O Ports

The color-coded I/O ports include two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, two LAN

ports, an HDMI port, a VGA port and a VESA display port.
