Chapter 7: BIOS

Type

Selects the type of IDE hard drive.  The options are 

Auto

 (allows BIOS

to   automatically determine the hard drive's capacity, number of heads,

etc.), a number from 1-39 to select a predetermined type of hard drive,

CD-ROM and ATAPI Removable.

Multi-Sector Transfers

Select the number of transfer sectors.  Options are 2, 4, 6, 8 and 

16

LBA Mode Control

This item determines whether Phoenix BIOS will access the IDE Primary

Master Device via LBA mode.  The options are 

Enabled

 and Disabled.

32-bit I/O

Selects 32-bit I/O operation.  Options are Enabled and 

Disabled

.

Transfer Mode

Selects the transfer mode.  Options are Standard, Fast PIO1, Fast PIO2,

Fast PIO3, 

Fast PIO4

, FPIO3/DMA1 and FPIO4/DMA2.

Ultra DMA Mode

Selects Ultra DMA Mode.  Options are 

Disabled

, Mode 0, Mode 1, Mode

2, Mode 3, Mode 4 and Mode 5.

System Memory

This display informs you how much system memory is recognized as being

present in the system.
