HANDLING YOUR UNIT
Connecting the speakers
Undo the cable ties on the back of the
speakers and fully unwind the speaker cables.
Insert the cables into the clip sockets on the
back of the appliance. To do this, proceed as
follows:
• Push upwards both red buttons on the
upper clip sockets and insert one red cable
into each socket. Push the buttons back
down. The cables are now secure in the
sockets.
• Next, press down both black buttons on
the lower clip sockets and insert one black
cable into each socket. Push the buttons
back up. The cables are now secure in the
sockets.
Before first use
• Connect the appliance plug to a mains
power socket and insert batteries into the
remote control as described in the section
“Inserting batteries in the remote control”.
• Open the cover of the CD compartment
located on the top of the unit by slightly
pushing on the CD compartment opening
mechanism and remove the protective
cardboard from the CD compartment.
A CD can now be inserted into the CD
compartment.
• Close the CD compartment by slightly
pushing down on the cover of the CD
compartment until it audibly locks.
• Undo the cable ties on the FM cable
antenna on the back of the appliance and
fully unwind the antenna.
• Now push the Function switch of the unit
to the desired function (Radio, Tape, CD,
MP3, USB)
DBBS
When the DBBS button is pressed, bass
frequencies are enhanced.
RADIO
To switch to Radio Mode, push the Function
switch to RADIO. The display will light up
blue. The display will show the set radio
frequency and the set tuning band (AM or
FM). If you have selected FM Stereo mode,
the green stereo indicator light will glow when
a radio station is being received in stereo.
Setting the radio station
• Push the Band Selector switch to the
desired band (AM, FM or FM Stereo).
• You can search for the desired radio
station within the selected frequency band
by turning the TUNING dial. The current
radio frequency can be seen at any time by
looking at the display.
• When the desired radio station has been
selected, reception can be improved by
adjusting the cable antenna.
CD-PLAYER / MP3-PLAYER
• Push the CD compartment opening
mechanism (OPEN/CLOSE) to open the
cover of the CD compartment on the top of
the unit.
• Insert a CD with the label side up into the
CD compartment, close the compartment
by pushing the cover down until it locks
audibly.
PLAYBACK OF A COMPLETE CD / MP3
NOTE:
During playback of an MP3, only the total
number of titles will be displayed, not the
number of folders.
• Use the function select switch on the
appliance to select CD function. The display
will flash “---“. The CD is being scanned by
the appliance.
