J. ADJUSTING TILT ANGLE
(Seat to Floor angle)
(continued)
Reattaching Tilt Pin
1.
Starting on one side of the chair, insert tilt pin through desired adjustment hole on the inner side of rear
frame (Fig 9.43 and 9.46). Slide the small spacer over the tilt pin on the outer side of the rear frame, then
align the lower link adjustment hole and continue pushing tilt pin through until fl ush with lower link outer
face.
2.
Next, slide large spacer onto tilt pin (if not already on pin) along with the spring, small spacer, and
appropriate tilt link adjustment hole. (Fig 9.38 on previous page, and Fig 9.46)
3.
Attach again the two socket head cap screws (inner and outer bolts) and fender washers to the tilt pin.
Use a 4mm Allen to secure tilt pin (demonstrated in Fig 9.41, on previous page) while tightening the inner
and outer bolts with a 5mm Allen. Ensure tilt pin is properly seated inside the tilt link adjustment hole
while tightening bolt. Apply pressure to compress spring slightly to ensure tilt link does not pop
off of tilt pin. Torque both bolts to 9 Nm [80 in-lbs]. Repeat steps 1-3 for the opposite side of
the chair. (Fig 9.44)
Note: Gap between tilt link and large spacer should be no more than 5/8-in and spring should
be slightly compressed. If gap is more than 5/8-in, this indicates tilt link is not properly seated
around the tilt pin. (Fig 9.44)
4.
It may be necessary to adjust hub lock foot pedal angle when changing tilt angle. Use a 3mm allen wrench
to loosen screws (A) on hub lock foot pedal. Adjust to desired angle. Tighten until hub lock foot pedal
stays in place. (Fig 9.45)
