Add SATA host card to an existing Windows installation
Follow the instructions in this section to install the SATA host card on a system already
environment* under Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista/7/2008 operation system.
Note:
System ready environment means that your booting primary HDD does NOT connect to this SATA host
card. This SATA card connects to your additional expansion HDD (not primary one) in an existing
windows environment. If you want to use this SATA board being a booting primary HDD interface, you
should re-install whole operation system. You can refer to next chapter for driver installation steps.
1.
Power off the system. Insert the SATA host card into an available PCI Express slot.
Connect serial ATA cable(s) between the SATA host card and the serial ATA
device(s).
Power on your PC system.
2.
Please install driver from CD along with SATA card.
Driver located in the folder:
:\ SATA \ PCI Express\ 2Ch-Marvell (6G) \ Driver \ drvSetup.exe
Please finish driver installation wizard step by step.
WARING
In order to get better performance, we recommend using PCI
Express Generation 2 slot, such as PCIe x16 channel. Please
contact with your mainboard vendor for expansion detail.
