Use of Mounting Flanges
Mounting flanges are either U-
shaped or L-shaped and are
installed in the four corners of a
4-post equipment rack. They
provide either round or square
holes to mount equipment to.
The EIA-310-D standard does
not specify the design of
mounting flanges. See the image
on the right for an example of
a
cabinet’s NEMA or RETMA rails .
Mounting Flange Holes
EIA-310-D specifies the placement of the mounting holes in the mounting flange,
which can be round, square, or threaded. See
