Check that all equipment fixing bolts are tight and report any damage to service
centre.
Check the complete hydraulic installation, all valves, hoses and pipes for leaks
and/or damage and report in case of a failure immediately to your service
department.
Check the oil filter in the oil tank and clean it (where is fitted).
Check the breather or oil tank and clean it (where is fitted).
Check if all safety decals are mounted.
Annual inspection:
Take your trailer at least once a year to a workshop for total inspection,
adjustment and maintenance.
5.2. Maintenance of chassis
Keep clean places on the chassis as shown in Figure 13 . The operator must pay
attention to lubrication of grease points and keeping the bolts tight. Tandem running
gear is fitted with parabolic/multi leaf springs. Because of the laminated construction of
parabolic/multi leaf springs on trailer with sprung axles, there is a tendency for
settlement and bedding in to take place during the initial loaded use of the trailer. It is
therefore essential that the U bolts securing the leaf assemblies are checked for
tightness after the first day of use and frequently during the first week. Subsequent
checks for tightness must be made at intervals not greater than three months.
All nuts and bolts that are at high importance should be tightened in accordance with
the manufacturer’s recommendations with a torque wrench to the guidance torque
shown in the Table 6.
