9. Cleaning
The spray gun can be cleaning without disassembling. The TEFLON® coated gun body can be cleaned with a cloth.
1. Fill the cleaned gravity feed up with a cleaning agent compatible with the material to be sprayed.
2. Starting up the spray gun
3. Shut down the spray gun only after it has sprayed clear cleaning agent only.
Depressurise the entire spray unit until used the next time. For cleaning the spray gun only use cleaning agents which
are indicated by the manufacturer of the spray material and do not contain the following constituents:
˗
halogenated hydrocarbons (such as 1,1,1, trichlorethane, methylene chloride, et cetera)
˗
acids and acid-containing cleaning agents
˗
regenerated solvents (so-called cleaning dilution)
˗
paint stripping agents
The constituents mentioned above cause chemical reactions on galvanised component parts and lead to corrosion
damage. Clean the spray gun:
˗
prior to a change of paint or material
˗
at least once a week
˗
several times a week depending on material and degree of contamination
Thorough cleaning:
1. Disassemble the gun.
2. Use a brush and cleaning agent to clean the air cap and material nozzle.
3. Clean all other components and the piston gun with a cloth and cleaning agent.
4. Cover the following parts with a thin film of grease:
˗
needle spring
˗
all sliding parts and bearing positions
Grease the moving interior parts at least once a week. The springs should be permanently covered with a light layer of
grease. Use a brush and acid-free non-resinous grease. Subsequently the spray gun is assembled in reverse order.
WARNING:
Do not use any hard or pointed objects for cleaning. No warranty can be assumed for damage caused by
incorrect cleaning.
10. Disposal
The spray media as well as the materials used for cleaning and servicing have to be disposed of correctly in keeping
with the laws and regulations.
Please observe the notes of the manufacturers of the spray material and cleaning agent. Materials carelessly disposed
of jeopardise the health of man and animals.
The spray gun itself has to be cleaned in an expert manner after the last use. The plastic grip has to be disposed of as
plastic waste, and the other parts as mixed steel waste.
