Safety First
The Uses
Overflow
min./max.Water level
Persons who are not familiar with the appliance and its operation and also children,
should not be allowed to use the STEAMmax. The STEAMmax is intended exclusively for
the purposes described in the Operating Instructions and only for the preparation of food.
Its use for other purposes, or technical modifications by the user can result in irreparable
damage to the STEAMmax. In such circumstances the STEAMmax no longer complies
with our safety measures and we will be unable to accept any Guarantee claims or
Liabilities resulting from its use.
Before Putting into Use
I
The appliance is only suitable for use in a dry room and should be protected from
rain or spraying water.
I
Before first using wash the STEAMmax parts in warm water. Never immerse the
lower part in water; this could cause a short-circuit.
I
Ensure that your local electrical supply voltage complies with that given on the
Steamer type label. (230 V).
I
The STEAMmax should stand on a dry, level and stable surface. Keep some space
between the STEAMmax and walls and make sure that the steam exit openings are
not under an overhead kitchen cupboard. When putting together all the individual
STEAMmax parts, check that these lie horizontally on the base unit, are properly in
place and cannot be slid sideways.
I
Always pour sufficient liquid into the
liquid container so that cooking begins
with the liquid between the minimum
and the maximum marks. 1 litre of liquid
is sufficient for a cooking time of
approximately 60 minutes.
I
In order to remove the steam we
recommend that you switch-on the
kitchen exhaust fan or open a window.
I
If there is any fault or damage to the STEAMmax or the mains cable, do not use it.
Never use the STEAMmax without the correct level of liquid in the container and with-
out the component parts properly in place. Do not carry the STEAMmax when it is hot.
Keep a careful watch when children are present.
I
Attention: Through the three steam exit openings in the lid hot steam which is not visi-
ble is exhausted. Place the lid in position so that the steam exit openings are away
from the side of the STEAMmax that you are working.
I
Be careful, when removing the lid, that your face is not directly over the hot steam. Lift
the lid up first on the side away from you, to allow the hot steam to escape.
I
Do not place a cloth or similar over the STEAMmax as this could create a fire hazard.
Do not touch the hot top-surface of the appliance but always use the grips provided.
Use kitchen gloves or similar protection when removing the lid or the sieve inserts. And
use only original STEAMmax parts.
I
Place the mains cable, and any extension cable used, so that there is no risk of trip-
ping and keep it away from hot surfaces and away from any open flame. Do not pull
the cable; pull only the plug.
I
Before cleaning, remove the mains plug and allow the STEAMmax sufficient time to
cool down. Pour out any remaining liquid only in the direction of the arrow, as shown.
I
Never immerse the STEAMmax base-unit in water and do not clean it in a dish-washer
as a shortcircuit may result. However, the sieve inserts may be washed in a dish-was-
her without problem.
I
In the case of damage or defects, remove the mains cable and take the appliance to a
specialist dealer to check and repair. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
In the case of any repair, or attempted repair, by other than a professional specialist we
can accept no liability for any eventual damage or other consequences.
Attention
Steam, Liquids, Food and
Steamer parts are HOT.
