Cooking times
You will find ideas regarding cooking times in the cooking table or in the recipe booklet,
which is available as an accessory.
Refilling with Liquid
Do not lift up the lid too frequently, in order not to use up the liquid prematurely. In gene-
ral it is unnecessary to fill the STEAMmax during cooking as the cooking time seldom
exceeds 60 minutes. Should however, during the cooking time, the liquid fully evaporate,
a continuous signal will be heard. The heating element will be automatically switched off
but the timer will continue to run. Lift one or both sieve inserts and refill with hot liquid.
After Cooking
If the cooking time is finished, the food can be kept warm for some minutes at half power.
The food will anyway remain warm for a short time in the STEAMmax. There is therefore
no rush to open the STEAMmax immediately the cooking time is ended.
Before you lift the lid make sure that the appliance is switched off. Remove the lid careful-
ly. It should be lifted with the underside side away from you, so that the steam can esca-
pe towards the rear and not towards you.
Remove the sieves and stand them on a heat-resistant surface. To avoid drips, one sieve
can be stood on the inverted STEAMmax lid.
Cleaning
Always remove the mains plug before cleaning the STEAMmax. Allow the appliance and
the liquid enough time to cool down.
Pour out any remaining liquid in the direction of the arrow only, taking care not to pour any
over the mains cable, the timer.
Clean the liquid container with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Never immerse the base
unit in water and do not wash it in a dish-washer. Do not clean the STEAMmax with harsh
or abrasive cleaning compounds or instruments. When necessary the liquid container of
the base unit can be de-scaled with lemon or vinegar water (fig. 2).
Additional Tips
Easy storage and stacking of sieve trays
The individual parts of the STEAMmax are stackable. Stand the large sieve insert on the
base unit. Stand the smaller sieve insert in the larger. Lie the mains cable in the top –
that's it (see pictures below).
Hygienic, odor-free,
easy-clean.
Clean with household
vinegar and done.
