The angled corner on the
diaphragm and support plate
must line up with the angle in
the crankcase (see arrows).
- Thoroughly clean the sealing fa-
ces on the crankcase and cover.
- Apply thin coating of sealant to
sealing face on crankcase -
Important: Follow manufacturer’s
instructions.
- Fit the cover.
- Coat screw threads and flanges
with engine oil and insert screws.

Initially tighten screws in
sequence shown (1 to 4) to
3 Nm, then finally tighten to
7 Nm in same sequence.
- Remove cover over diaphragm -
•
Take out the screws.
- Take away the lower half of the
crankcase.
•
Unscrew dipstick if necessary.
•
Remove grommets if necessary.
•
Check to see if oil return bores
are blocked. Blow clear with
compressed air if necessary.
- Thoroughly clean sealing faces
on both halves of crankcase.
- Apply thin coating of sealant to
lower half of crankcase -
Important: Follow manufacturer’s
instructions.
- Tighten down screws to 5 Nm.
- Install cover over the diaphragm -
