6.3 OIL CHANGE
For the type of oil required, observe the
indications provided in the technical data table.
Drain the oil out while the engine
is warm, being careful not to touch
the hot engine nor the drained oil.
Unless otherwise indicated in the owner’s
manual, change the oil as follows:
1.
Place the machine on a flat surface.
2.
Place a suitable container under
the extension tube (fig. 6.A).
3.
Press the cotter (fig. 6.B)
4.
Release the extension tube from the
support by moving it downwards;
5.
Bend the extension tube and drain
the oil into a suitable container.
6.
Refit the extension tube (fig. 6.A) on the
support (fig. 6.C) before topping up the oil.
7.
Clean up any spills.
6.4 CLEANING THE ENGINE
INTAKE GRILLE
The intake grille must be cleaned
when the engine is cold.
•
Using a jet of compressed air (fig. 7.A),
eliminate any debris or dirt from the engine
intake grille that may otherwise cause a fire.
•
Make sure that the air intakes are
not obstructed (fig. 7.A).
•
Clean the plastic components with a sponge
(fig. 7.D) soaked in water and detergent.
6.5 AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE
1.
Clean the area around the
filter cover (fig. 8.A).
2.
Open the cover (fig. 8.A) by unscrewing
the opening k nob (fig. 8.B).
3.
Remove the filter element (fig. 8.C + 8.D).
4.
Remove the sponge pre-filter (fig. 8.D)
from the cartridge (fig. 8.C).
5.
Tap the cartridge (fig. 8.C) on a solid
surface and blow with compressed air from
the inside to remove dust and debris.
6.
Wash the sponge pre-filter
(fig. 8.D) with water and detergent
and leave it to dry in the air.
IMPORTANT
Do not use water, petrol,
detergents or other fluids to clean the cartridge.
IMPORTANT
The sponge pre-filter
(fig. 8.D) must NOT be oiled
.
1.
Clean any dust and debris from the inside
of the filter housing (fig. 8.E) taking care to
close the intake duct with a rag (fig. 8.F) to
prevent foreign bodies entering the engine.
2.
Remove the rag (fig. 8.F), refit the filter
element (fig. 8.D + 8.C) in its housing
and refit the cover (fig. 8.A).
6.6
SPARK PLUG CHECKS
AND MAINTENANCE
1.
Remove the spark plugs (fig. 9.A)
using a socket wrench (fig. 9.B).
2.
Clean the electrodes (fig. 9.C) with a metal
brush, removing any carbonaceous build-up.
3.
Use a thickness gauge (fig. 9.D) to verify
that the gap between the electrodes
is correct (0.6 - 0.8 mm).
4.
Refit the spark plugs (fig. 9.A) and tighten
fully using a socket wrench (fig. 9.B).
