Gear Block

16.

Fit ply landing gear brace F10 to the 

bottom

  of F1, in the slots  pair of slots 

forward

 of  the 

receiver tray.  

DO NOT BOND.

17.

Fit ply landing gear brace F11 to the slot on the 

bottom

  of F1, immediately 

behind

 F10.  

DO 

NOT BOND.

18.

Slide ply part F12 between F10 and F11.   Ensure that F12 is seated firmly against F1.  

Tip: 

use a scrap piece of 1/32 ply to push F12 all the way  down in the pocket created by F10 

and F11.

19.

To  set  the proper  angle  for  the  gear  block,  temporarily  pull  the  fuselage sides  together, 

wrapping  around  parts  F10,  F11  and  F12.    Fit  the  tabs  on  F10  and  F11  within  the 

corresponding slot along the bottom of the 

right

 and 

left

 fuselage sides.  Bond F10, F11 and 

F12 to F1 only.  

Do not bond F10 and F11 to the fuselage sides at this time.

Lower Fuselage Assembly

20.

Moisten the outside, 

lower

 half of the fuselage sides with glass cleaner and allow to soak  for 

a few minutes.

21.

Carefully bend the fuselage sides, bringing them in full contact with the 

lower

 curved edges 

of formers  F2,  F3, F4, and F7.    Use several  strips  of low  tack  masking tape to hold  the 

fuselage sides  in position and allow the fuselage to thoroughly dry.   When dry, remove the 

tape and bond the 

lower

 portion of the fuselage side to the formers.

22.

Remove the fuselage bottom F13 from the parts  sheet.   DO NOT  remove the cut-outs  in 

F13 until directed to do so in a later  step.   Fit F13 to the 

bottom

  of the fuselage, between 

the  fuselage  sides.    Ensure  that  the  tabs  along  the  edge  fully  engage  the  slots  in  the 

fuselage sides, and that the slots  engage the tabs  in formers  F3 and F7.   Ensure that the 

front end of F13 laps  over  the 

rear

  portion of the landing gear pocket at F11, but does  not 

cover the slot in the pocket.  Bond F13 to the fuselage with CA.

23.

Fit  and  bond F14 

forward

  of F13, tabbing into the fuselage sides  and  former  F2, lapping 

over the 

forward

 portion of the landing gear pocket at F10.  Ensure that F14 does  not cover 

the slot in the landing gear pocket.  Bond with CA.
