Balancing the Steadimate-S

Before you balance

Balancing your Steadimate-S equipped stabilizer is similar to balancing 
any handheld stabilizer. The goal is to balance the complete system 
so that the stabilizer handle hangs vertically from the Steadimate-S 
gimbal handle, but tilts up and down with a light touch, and uses the 
least additional weight. Note that you’ll likely have to repeat a couple 
of the balance steps to optimize the number and location of weights.

IMPORTANT: start with your camera mounted on the stabilizer and 
balanced, and keep the stabilizer powered ON while balancing the 
Steadimate-S.

TIP: you can use a 
c-stand or a strong light 
stand, with the included 
1/2” adapter, to support 
the Steadimate-S while 
balancing. Otherwise, pick 
it up by the gimbal handle 
to balance.
