DANGER
Electrical voltage
Electrocution hazard.
Before opening the cover or working on electrical components, disconnect the
device from power supply. Make sure that the equipment cannot be
reconnected to mains unintentionally.
Installation and maintenance must be carried out by trained staff only. Regard
correct mains supply.
DANGER
Toxic and corrosive gases
Sample gas can be hazardous.
Protect yourself during maintenance against toxic / corrosive gases. Use
gloves, respirator and face protector under certain circumstances.
The level switch is delivered pre-assembled and can be directly screwed to the tank.
The float must move freely and must keep enough distance to the walls and to other equipment installed. If
the float had been demounted, make sure that the magnet inside the float is placed above the surface.
Check its position using a piece of iron.
It is assumed that the level switch is installed into an empty tank. Therefore, operating positions is reached
after filling the tank.
The level contacts are installed as NO or NC contact at positions according to your order. Position and
switching function cannot be changed.
Technical note: Extension of lifetime of Reed contacts (level)
According to the design, Reed contacts are highly reliable components with a long life time. Nevertheless,
you should take the following remarks into account:
Contact protection
Inductive loads: In order to reduce the high reverse voltage produced
when the reed switch opens, the following contact protection shall be
applied.
DC voltage: A diode in parallel to the load
The temperature switching outputs are designed as PNP transistor
outputs (see figure).
Note:
If the switching output is measured with high-impedance measuring
equipment or if the frequency output is used, connect a 10 k
:
resistor between output and ground to avoid faulty measurements.
