1 BEFORE PROCEEDING

This product should be installed in accordance with all local and state building codes.
PREPARATION
2 DOOR PREPARATION FOR EXIT DEVICE
Mark a horizontally leveled line (

) 40” [1016 mm] above the Floor on the inside of Door (

). With door(s) closed, place appropriate side of Template (
2C
) and align it to the edge of door
(

) Side Jamb (

) or to the end of door (
2E
) as shown. Align the Center Line of template with the Line (
2A
) drawn on Door (
2B
). Use the Template Hole Markings to place the hole locations.
Using a Pencil or Awl (

), tap the screw hole locations through the cross marks on Template (
2D
). (Mark mounting holes for trim on the outside of door.)
3 DOOR PREPARATION FOR TOP LATCH DEVICE
With door closed, mark a Vertically Leveled Line (

) 1 7/8” [37 mm] on the inside of Door (
3B
) from the edge of Side Door Jamb (
3C
) or from the End of Door (
3D
). Using the “Top Latch” side
of Template (
3E
), fold it along the indicated fold line. Place the fold of template on the corner of door and top Door Jamb (
3C
). Align the center line of template with the Vertical Line (
3A
) on
the Door (
3B
). Use the Template Hole Markings to place the hole locations on Door (
3B
) and top Door Jamb (
3C
). Using a Pencil or Awl (

), tap the screw hole locations through the cross
marks on Template (
3E
).
4 DOOR PREPARATION FOR BOTTOM LATCH DEVICE
With door closed, use the “Bottom Latch” side of Template (

) and fold it along the indicated fold line. Place the fold of template on the corner of Door (
4B
) and Finished Floor (
4C
). Align the
center line of template with the Vertical Line (
4D
) on Door (
4B
). Use the Template Hole Markings to place the hole locations on Door (
4B
) and Finished Floor (
4C
). Using a Pencil or Awl (
4E
),
tap the screw hole locations through the cross marks on Template (
4A
).
