Cancel a Distress Alert
The GX1100S has the capa-
bility to transmit a DSC Dis-
tress cancel call by, pressing
the [
CLR
(
WX
)] key, then
press the [ ENT
] key.
11.3.2 Receiving a Distress Alert
1. When a Distress Alert is received, an emergency alarm sounds.
The display will show the MMSI (or name) of the
vessel transmitting the Distress and the radio au-
tomatically switches to channel 16.
2. Press any key to stop the alarm.
3. Press the [
T
(
DOWN
)] key to change the display
to show the “Nature of Distress” and position of
the vessel.
4 If the position of the vessel distress data does not
include position, the LCD will show “
NO POSITION NO POSITION
NO POSITION NO POSITION
NO POSITION
”.
NOTE
ˆ When there is an unread Distress Alert, “ ” icon will appear on the
display. You may review the unread Distress Alert from the DSC Log,
refer to section “
11.6.2 Reviewing Received Calls Logged into the
Call Waiting Directory .”
ˆ You must continue monitoring channel 16 as a coast station may re-
quire assistance in the rescue attempt.
