"Frequency" or "Counter" Operating Mode
In the "Counter with direction" or "Frequency with direction" operating mode, two adjacent
channels are operated together. The following channel assignment applies:
• First channel – sensor 1 (8, 10, 12, 14) = signal value (1 or 0)
• Second channel – sensor 2 (9, 11, 13, 15) = direction (0 = forward, 1 = backward)

For the "Frequency" or "Counter" operating mode, only channels 8 to 15 are
used. Channels 0 to 7 can continue to be used for other operating modes.
