Function test
Briefly press the RESET key on the basic module, both LEDs (red and green) flash once. Check the smoke
alarm device now by pressing the test key (however, when doing so, hold the device at arms length for protecting
your ears): The alarm sounds and the red LED flashes.
By holding the test key pressed for 4 sec. at least, all radio-interlinked smoke alarm devices (belonging to the
same group) should sound and the red LEDs on the basic modules should light up. The LED on the smoke alarm
device triggered first is manually reset by pressing the RESET key, the LEDs of the other smoke alarm devices
of the group which were activated by radio link automatically go out.
Localisation of the alarm triggering smoke alarm device in the event of an alarm
The smoke alarm device which detects smoke particles first and which has triggered the alarm can be identified
thanks to the rapidly flashing red LED. If the red LED on the basic modules is permanently illuminated, an alarm
has been triggered, but the smoke alarm device has automatically reset (alarm trigger indicator is reset be
pressing the RESET key).
Electric energy supply
The power supply of the smoke alarm device is provided through a 9 V block battery (the battery insert protection
avoids that the detector is accidentally mounted on the basic module without having a battery inserted), the basic
module through four 1.5 V batteries (AAA). The battery service lifetime amounts to approx. 1 year under normal
operating conditions.
If the battery capacity of the basic module is low, the green LED starts flashing rapidly. In this case, immediately
change the batteries, since the radio link to the other detectors is otherwise not be assured anymore!
If the battery capacity of the smoke alarm device becomes weak, a beep sounds approx. every 35 sec. In this
case, immediately change the 9 V block battery for assuring the proper functioning of the smoke alarm device.
After each battery change, you should necessarily perform a function test!
Disposal instruction
Electronic devices and used up batteries are not to be thrown into the domestic waste.
Please hand in the used batteries at your point of sale or at a public collecting point.
Hand in the device at your municipal waste disposal company or a collecting point specialized in electronic scrap.
