Establishing HyperTerminal Communications
>> To set HyperTerminal for communications with the sensor
1.
Connect the Airnet II 4-Channel particle sensor to a computer with the provided
RS-232 cable.
2.
If the computer is not running, start it and open your terminal emulation
program.
3.
Proceed to the COM1 parameters dialog box.
4.
Set the following communications parameters, and press
Enter
.
A prompt (

) will appear on the computer display.
5.
At the prompt (
>
), enter the appropriate commands to set the parameters for
your 4-20 mA application. Record your parameters for future reference. (A list of
available commands are described in the following section.)
Viewing Configuration Settings
Typing
sta(tus)
and then pressing the
Enter
key results in a display of the Airnet II
4-Channel particle sensor’s configuration settings, software version, and connection
status.
If typing
status
or
?
, and then pressing the
Enter
key, does not produce any activity
on the display screen:
•
the terminal emulator may be set up incorrectly, or
•
the cable may be improperly connected or faulty.
