METERING AND DIAGNOSTICS:
This SpectraPure purification system has been fully equipped with sufficient
instrumentation to make monitoring and troubleshooting an easy process.
The provided pressure gauge is used to determine the tap water pressure
and to evaluate the condition of the sediment and carbon prefilters. The
pressure will drop as the prefilters become clogged by dirt (turbidity) from
the tap water.
The two digital TDS meters will provide a reliable means of evaluating the
efficiency of the RO membrane, the state of the DI cartridges, and the purity
of the product water. The left-side meter shows Tap Water TDS when set
to “IN” and RO Water TDS when set to “OUT”. These measurements may
be used to calculate the efficiency (lifespan) of the RO membrane. (See
“Testing The Quality Of The Membrane” on Page 15.) The right-side meter
shows the TDS of the water coming from the Mega MaxCap™ cartridge
when set to “IN” and the TDS of the water coming from the Enduro DI™
cartridge when set to “OUT”. The reading from the “OUT” setting on the
right-hand meter is also the TDS of your final product water. (See “Mega
