Place the opening device (577) between two cams of the ring nut (160.2), see
drawing 1. Make sure the opening device catches properly, see drawing 2. Loo-
sen the ring nut by turning anticlockwise, see drawing 3. Opening device must
be used only for opening!
Remove the transparent lid (160.1). Slowly fill the pump with clean water until
the water level reaches the inlet connection. Put on the transparent lid (160.1)
and make sure that the o-ring seal (412.1) is well in the housing groove.
Tighten the ring nut (160.2) by hand, do not use force. Otherwise the pump
will prime insufficiently or not at all. Never let the pump run dry, not even for
the purpose of checking the direction of rotation!
6.2
Before starting the pump, make sure the shut-off valve on the pressure side is
half closed! Only after reaching full speed, slowly open the shut-off valve and
adjust it to the operation point.
6.3
Make sure pump and motor turn freely, especially after extended periods of
downtime. To do this put a screwdriver into the slot at the fan end and turn it by
hand in the direction of rotation. If necessary remove the fan cover and turn the
fan by hand in the direction of motor rotation. After re-starting make sure the
mechanical seal doesn’t leak.
6.4
Never operate the pump without the strainer basket (143) and the strainer bas-
ket handle, otherwise the pump may get clogged and blocked.
