3.4 security during transport
Keep a good distance at persons located in the immediate vicinity of the Caddy³.
Adjust your speed to the conditions.
Ensure that persons being transported keep limbs within the boundaries of the
Caddy³.
Acts as entering and exiting the transport chair always in the presence of a
trained assistant.
3.5 Going up and down sidewalks and uneven surfaces
The following method is for when the wheelchair is pushed by an attendant and gives the
user a feeling of security.
Going up the pavement / uneven surface
1. The attendent must place the Caddy³ forward for the sidewalk. The attendant must
pull the push tube (Figure 1 and 2 no.8) to himself while placing the foot on the tilting
mechanism (Figure 1 and 2 no.10).
2. Push the Caddy³ on the sidewalk or increase until the rear wheels touch the curb, now
let loose the tilt mechanism.
3. Lift the Caddy³ with push tube over the hurdle.
Going down the pavement / uneven surface
1 Always go backwards down the pavement so that the Caddy³ can not lean
over tilt so the user could fall out of the wheelchair.
2 Never go without a attendent down the sidewalk.
3.6 Slopes
Inspect the slope always on risks such as holes or slippery and uneven surfaces before
setting off or driving. If you can not see the slope, ask someone to inspect it for you.
Climbing hills
Never ride on a slope with a gradient of more than 8 degrees.
The Caddy³ is on a slope less stable.
The supervisor who Caddy³ moves must keep pushing to prevent the Caddy³ own
initiative driving.
Put the Caddy³ on the brake (brake lever release) if there is no or insufficient pushed.
Driving down a slope
The Caddy³ will drive down the slope by itself when the brake lever is operated.
Prevent the wheelchair gets too high a speed.
The attendent can slow the wheelchair down by releasing the brake handle.
When stopped on a slope, the brake handle can be pushed slightly forward. This creates
additional braking force.
Warning:
Never drive with your Caddy³ of stairs or escalator
.
