Safety instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases, the warranty will be null
and void.
a) General
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted for safety and approval
reasons (CE). Do not disassemble the product.
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an expert.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous plaything for
children.
b) Wall plug transformer
• The design of the power adapter complies with Protection Class II. Use only a standard mains socket as
the power source for the power adapter.
• The mains socket into which the wall plug transformer is plugged must be easily accessible.
• Use only the wall plug transformer supplied to power the converter.
• Do not pull the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable. Hold it on the sides of the
casing and pull it out of the mains socket.
• Do not touch any wall plug transformer that shows signs of damage; there is a danger to life from electric
shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the power adapter is connected (switch off at the
corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse or switch off at the corresponding RCD protective
switch, so that the socket is fully disconnected).
You can then unplug the power adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty power adapter in an
environmentally friendly way, do not use it any more. Replace it with a power adapter of the same design.
c) Operation
• This product is not a toy. Devices operated on mains voltage should not be used by children. Therefore, be
especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• The product is intended for use in dry, indoor locations only. No part of the product should become damp
or wet; never handle it if your hands are wet!
Wall plug transformers pose the potential risk of a fatal electric shock!
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the location of installation and during transport:
- Dampness or excessive humidity
- Extreme cold or heat, direct sunlight
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loudspeakers
• Do not place objects on the converter; never cover the converter.
• Choose a stable, even, flat and sufficiently large surface for the installation.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room into a warm one. The conden-
sation that forms can ruin the product under certain circumstances. The wall plug transformer also poses
a risk for a potentially fatal electric shock!
Version 05/15
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power supply and putting it to use.
This may take several hours.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor pinched.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls, even from a low
height.
Connection and start-up
• Connect 3 phono connectors of the component input of the converter with the relevant output of your
playback device, e.g. a DVD player.
Green socket “Y”:
Component signal “Y“
Red socket “Pr”:
Component signal “Pr”
Blue socket “Pb”:
Component signal “Pb”
• Connect 2 phono connectors of the audio input of the converter with the relevant output of your playback
device.
Red socket “R”:
Right stereo audio signal
White socket “L”:
Left stereo audio signal
• Connect the HDMI output (“HDMI Output”) to the corresponding input of a TV set or monitor.
• Connect the circular low-voltage plug of the wall plug transformer into the corresponding socket on the
converter.
• Plug the wall plug transformer into a mains socket.
• Switch on the playback device and your TV set/monitor. Select the correct input on the television/monitor,
if required.
The blue LED of the converter lights up when the HDMI signal is reproduced. The HDMI signal has the
same format (resolution/refresh rate) as the component signal.
Cleaning
Prior to cleaning the device, pull the plug-in power unit out of the mains outlet.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, as these can cause discol-
ouration. Do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning, to prevent scratch marks.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic products do not belong in your regular household waste.
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
