The HDMI output delivers at most a LPCM7.1 signal depending on the signal source. In other
words, at the HDMI input the signal is passed through at 1:1.
Whether there is a signal present at the optical digital output or the analogue stereo output
depends on the signal of the playback device and on the audio channel available such as on
a Blu-ray (for example, the analogue stereo output carries the front left/right audio signal of a
Blu-ray’s 5.1 audio channel).
Troubleshooting
No audio signal present
• Depending on the position of the sliding switch (5) the playback device such as a Blu-ray
player or games console delivers the corresponding audio signal (LPCM7.1, Dolby 5.1
stereo / 2 channel LPCM), depending on the features of the signal source or the sound chan-
nel such as on a Blu-ray.
The sliding switch (5) sends a signal, based on the EDID, to the playback device and indi-
cates the audio signal that it may deliver at the most.
If appropriate, test all 3 switch positions or choose a different audio channel for the playback
of your Blu-ray. Also check the audio settings of, for example, your Blu-ray player.
• Check whether the correct input is enabled on your amplifier for example and that all cables
are connected properly.
• Check, if the mute function on any of the devices connected is activated.
• Is the audio extractor powered and switched on? When switched off (power LED of the
audio-extractor is not on) there is no signal on any output and the HDMI signal is not passed
through.
No function
• Is the audio extractor powered and switched on?
Handling
• Use is permitted only in dry indoor locations. The product must not get damp or wet! There is
danger to life through an electric shock!
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room into a warm
one. The condensation that forms might damage the product. The wall plug transformer also
poses a risk for a potentially fatal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature, before connecting it to the power supply and
putting it into use. This may take several hours.
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an authorised repair shop.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor pinched.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the location of installation and during transport:
- Excessive humidity or dampness
- Extreme cold or heat, direct sunlight
- Dust or flammable gasses, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loudspeakers
Maintenance and Cleaning
• The product does not require any maintenance. You should never take it apart. Any mainte-
nance or repair work may only be performed by an expert.
• Before you clean the product, disconnect from the mains voltage and pull the wall plug trans-
former from the mains socket.
• The outside of the product should only be cleaned with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the
housing (discolouring) or impair operation.
• Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-bristle brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic devices must not be discarded with domestic waste!
Please dispose of the product at the end of its service life according to the current
statutory requirements.
